Donna, our Featured Artist for August 2009, is one person i would nominate for the Compassionate Democracy Division of CSIRI.org.
We will have a non-competitive contest here this month for other women in your life who have helped you to survive and grow as a caring individual.
For many years, Donna has gone out of her way to help others. The least and most dispossessed in society have been her special charges. Artist/singer/homeless activist/tenants rights proponent, writer/teacher/mentor/rescuer of lost souls, all these and more describe this unique and talented individual chosen by csiri as a role model worthy of emulation by teenagers interested in global and local solutions to poverty, hunger, homelessness, etc.
