HEART LAKE

Heart Lake

Playing by Heart Lake Shore,
Dancing to a hot summer's song
There's a puppy digging in the tree loam
Learning of the Forest's ways
Birds singing, bees buzzing
Breezes thru the gentle forest's trees
On the other side of Heart Lake shore,
Does my true love wait for me?

I felt his arms about me
My head on his shoulder lay
His heart beat so strongly
Like a dream calling me away
Like a drum calling me to stay

Now the puppy named Heart is sleeping
Keeping my back warm
And I'm sitting here by Heart Lake shore
Dreaming and wondering
If the star I wished upon last night
Will lead me home to you?
How long have I been the Wanderer
How long have I been alone
A vagabond, a poet, a seeker,
For the Heart I could call my Home?
But Ephratah, Be Open!
I heard my spirit say,
Ephratah! Be Open! This is salvation's Day!
